High Quality Link: www.youtube.com I recently downgraded my Wii from firmware 3.4U back down to 3.2U (hacking safe). I had put in a lot of games, and I quickly ran out of Wii system memory, so I was very tempted to upgrade to the new 4.0U with the new SD card support such as the SD card menu and SDHC support. No one in their videos talks about the homebrew channel and Wii Menu 4.0, which I find extremely irritating in finding answers, so I got you guys covered today ; ) Taking the necessary precautions, I updated and nothing negative had happened. No data lost, no bricked wii nothing. But the SD card menu isn't what its cracked up to be for people like me, who have A LOT of VC games.....and that sucks. -Check out my Wii Speak Ideas video, and lets try to get Nintendo to update the channel for more user friendly use: www.youtube.com NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO SAFELY UPDATE TO 4.0: - Have DVDx installed (Because it sucks to update then you can't watch DVDs) - Download and install "IOS36 rev 08" (This is the most important, you will screw yourself if you don't have this installed when you update) SOLUTION TO RUNNING HACKED GAMES OFF OF SD CARD MENU: Download and Install "IOS60 Installer" (Only install IOS60, and it's patch...not IOS61 and not Latest Shop Channel) Frequently Asked Questions: Q. Where do I find the files you're talking about? A. If you really don't know, you probably shouldn't be messing around with your wii, but here: -DVDx- wiibrew.org -Custom IOS36 rev 08 ...
